In the past, Bangladesh’s biggest obstacle towards growth was its population and today the country’s biggest strength is its population of trained, equipped, and skilled resources.
Bangladesh Government has initiated various skilling program to developing a strong digital workforce. Talent readiness and its share of digital skilled talent emphasizes on core capabilities like digital analytics, data visualization, web/ software development, digital marketing /social media, search engine optimization, cloud computing, graphic designing and artificial intelligence. The Government of Bangladesh is considering IT/ITeS sector as the central pillar for economic development. IT/ITeS growth is being viewed as the tool to achieve Bangladesh ‘Vision 2021’ of transforming Bangladesh in to middle-income economy.

Launch of Digital Bangladesh has given birth to many key strategic initiatives. Universities and education institutions have started to inculcate digital learning and modules that focus on cognitive computing, data visualisation and analytics as part of their curricula. Importance of Start-ups, Industries and private enterprises that focus on big data analytics, data forecasting and simulation etc. has drastically risen.
The ICT Division and the Government of Bangladesh have been implementing mechanisms and programs to promote Digital Bangladesh and have aligned training programs and funding to promote innovation, start-ups and digital transformation of industries.
